Be Prepared to Vote and Assist Others for the November 5th Election

What is shaping up to be the most consequential federal and state election in our lifetime on November 5th is fast approaching and only 60 days away! As voters in one of the most pivotal “battleground” states in the nation, Wisconsinites have an extraordinary opportunity to demonstrate our significant power and influence in determining state and national leadership by voting and encouraging others to vote in this Fall’s General Election.

As you prepare to vote, we want to share with you some terrific opportunities for how you can direct your own inner citizen activism to preserve and protect our freedom to vote, and to uphold and promote fair and free elections in Wisconsin:

Election Day Observation

Be a volunteer for Election Protection in Wisconsin! The League of Women Voters of Wisconsin manages an effective Election Observation program for our state and we are helping to recruit volunteer observers for the November 5th Election. You can learn more about the program through the LWVWI webpage. And you can sign up to be an Election Observer here.

Volunteer with Souls to the Polls - Milwaukee

Souls to the Polls is recruiting volunteers for their Rides to the Polls in Milwaukee, including shifts for in-person absentee voting (aka “early voting”). More information and a signup form are here.

Become a Poll Worker

Poll workers are vital to making the voting process safe, secure, and smooth. If you’re able, consider becoming a poll worker for your municipality and within your county. In particular, Green Bay in Brown County, Milwaukee in Milwaukee County, Brookfield in Waukesha County, Watertown in Jefferson and Dodge Counties, Eau Claire in Eau Claire County, and Madison in Dane County are seeking to increase their poll worker teams. You can work at a polling location as long as you reside in the same county as the polling location. Please sign up now so you're able to attend the necessary training sessions. Vote Early Day - October 28th

In person absentee voting (aka “early voting”) starts in Wisconsin on October 25th. Groups and individuals around the state are putting together vote early events for October 29th to celebrate the power of voting. More information and a map of events will continue to be updated at the Vote Early Day 2024 website.

National Voter Registration Day - September 17th

It’s YOUR Right: On September 17, 2024, National Voter Registration Day and

Constitution Day celebrate their shared birthdays - and it couldn’t be a more perfect pairing! The U.S. Constitution established the framework for our representative democracy and, as its inheritors and protectors, it’s our responsibility to participate in it, strengthen it, and pass it along to future generations. Be Vote Ready up and down the ballot by registering to vote in advance of Election Day. Register to vote and get more information at MyVote.wi.gov.

Be Vote Ready

Choose the method of voting that works best for you and make your plans to vote by mail, OR by in-person absentee (aka "early voting"), OR on Election Day. You can request your absentee ballot by mail now, register to vote, and MORE - all at MyVote.wi.gov. Enter your address information to get started or find the contact information for your municipal clerk.

Don't forget: Young voters who are enrolled at a public or private Wisconsin university, college, or technical School can get the information they need to vote from this Common Cause Wisconsin Student Resource Page. Please share the link with the young voters in your life.
